But "take the gloves off", does not, and should not move President Bush to get down and dirty with the lying dogs of the left. President Bush should continue to try and change the tone in Washington, it's proven by polls that voters are sick of it. But Horowitz is right, that every false allegation, every spinning lie, and every personal attack by the left should be answered immediately, in the same news cycle. Let no lie go unrefuted. But it must be done by Republican talking heads, think tanks, editorials, and the other voices now available to us. The internet, talk radio, conservative journals and newspapers.

The left doesn't have the free media ride it once did. Their lies are not simply accepted as truth. We are winning, and we are doing it without President Bush indulging in the gutter politics. Oh, I admit, I would get tremendous satisfaction seeing this administration publicly expose all of the Clintons' excesses, crimes, sins, shortcomings, corruptions, and failures..but really, my instant gratification is far less important than wise governance.

Horowitz is showing us (conservatives) how to fight. His is practically a lone voice. He showed us how to get media coverage, with his presenting his points in the college papers, (creating quite a uproar), it got it out there and public; even the colleges he appeared at as speaker with hecklers and protesters were a win for him and his tactics.

What we need is 50 people doing what he does, then 100 and so on....

The president is handling it just right, I agree. And I don't even think "gutter politics" is needed. Getting in there with the simple truth, not letting the left get away with their lying, will be devastating!

You're right, Bush probably doesn't need to stoop to the democrats' level of personal attacks, but I sorta miss the days when Reagan would make humorous digs at Tip O'Neill and the democratic party, the term "demogogues" was frequently used to describe them.

Reagan while he was willing to compromise to get as much of his agenda through, knew who his opponents were and rarely missed an opportunity to make that fact known. To my knowledge it didn't hurt him politically, in fact I've never seen a politican more imitated by the democrats than Reagan. That's because not only was he admired by the general population but respected by friends and foe alike.

Republicans/conservatives these days have become too comfortable in their position of power, they need to remember they do have political enemies scheming to run them out. The democrats are terrible at running government, but they're VERY good at politics.
