Before heading back to Washington this weekend, Sen. Jean Carnahan is firing off a few campaign shots. Literally.
Carnahan, D-Mo., plans to shoot skeet Friday at an event on a farm in Missouri's Bootheel. It'll be the first time that she's fired a weapon in public during her U.S. Senate campaign, although Carnahan often has mentioned that she won a sharpshooter's medal in college and once outshot her security detail.

Go Talent.
The Democrats never seem to understand this...a staged photograph of a known Anti-Constitutionalist holding a 20-gauge should NOT make up for the widow Carnahan's obscene stance against personal defensive arms.
Sorry about that B&P, my search didn't find your post.
Actually, my search doesn't find my post either. Hmmmmm, maybe I better go read the instructions on how to search again.
Actually I had to look at the post times to make sure I didn't get mine in after you!(GRIN!)
Would these be the same voters that elected a dead man to this same Senate seat?
Looks like they kick around this skeet shoot idea for some time.

I just saw that...
I searched for "Carnahan", but this article only comes up if you search for "Carnahan's". I hate it when this happens. It used to be possible to search on "author" and "source" (If it still is, somebody please enlighten me). That is a much more sure way, in my opinion, especially for articles (unlike this one) which may run in more than one paper or magazine (since titles are usually not made up by the author).
I guess that was just too obvious; I thought of it just as I was scrolling down and there you were with it. I don't think she'll look nearly as silly as little Mikey playing soldier.
The same Missouri voters who elected a dead guy?
Still trailing her opponent among rural male voters, Senator Jean Carnahan and her security detail went on jacklighting expedition Tuesday evening.
"It was pretty slick," Senator Carnahan explained. "We had one of them big million candlepower spotlights. Plugged it into the cigarette lighter -- woohoo, baby, it was like the bad moon arising!"
The senator was toting a Savage 110 complete with scope that she had picked up at Wal-Mart earlier in the day. Her bodyguard, Floyd, had sighted in the rifle on a Hill Brothers coffee can off the back porch of the senator's Rolla home.
"It's a hum-dinger," Floyd remarked of the .25-06. "Put a gnat's eye out at a hunnerd yards. That necked down '06 is one flat-shootin' sumb!t@h."
Carnahan said she killed two deer during the spotlighting outing and may have wounded another that got away. "Shoot," she remarked as she pinched some Redman, "I'm not too worried about that one. The coyotes and buzzards got to eat, too." The senator explained that one of her kills was a doe and the other a good-sized fawn. "That .25-06 was a kind'a much for the little one. I'll have a pile of blood-shot meat for the blueticks," she guffawed.
When asked about the illegalities involved in the Senators excursion, a spokesperson for the Missouri Democratic party explained, "This is a traditional activity among rural Missourians. It is part of our culture and heritage. And this is not something Mrs. Carnahan is doing for votes. She has jacklighted many times in the past with her late husband and her son, Randy. This was the first time she has gone out since their demise, and we are all very happy and supportive to see her dealing in this way with her grief and loss."
Spokesmen for the Talent campaign commented that they could not believe the Senator had a beanfield full of deer and only brought home two. They called her shooting "piddlin'".
