You start with this:

"George W Bush and his own unelected, Christian fundamentalist regime face a dilemma. An attack on Iraq and conflict in the Middle East would provide a timely boost for American's military-industry-complex, for which the Senate has voted an historic increase in expenditure of £24billion. It would also divert attention from a sick economy and the corporate corruption scandals in which Bush and his vice-president are immersed up to their necks."

The above contains all the mistaken beliefs of those opposing this conflict. Seemingly, they do not understand that a true, representative democracy requires capitalism. Only by both freedoms can one progress economically sufficient to garner the economic surplus which is the sine qua non of a successful war. The saver, the entrepreneur and the technocrat all serve the consumer who is king in our kind of society. Unfortunately, the masses and the literati are often jealous or envious of success not only of the individuals who succeed in this system but of the system itself which does not recognize their alleged superiority of morality and judgement.

This is the problem --Britain along with most of the Western powers have renounced traditional liberalism in favor of centralized power. Like the Islamic radicals or dictators their rule is based not on serving the masses but serving the masters who just happen to be they. Our job is to convince, even by military means if necessary, the unformed, ignorant societies who are our adversaries that representative democracy, capitalism and liberty are the goals of every society that wishes to better the lot of the average person. It should be no surprise socialists, socialist-hangers-on and big, intrusive government devotees are also our political adversaries.

If we fail to succeed at this, future generations will face even more dangers. Statism is the new heresy -- it pursues its ends with an intolerant religious fervor which takes no prisoners. Stalin and Hitler are not dead they are only resting.
