Good for her.
Now tell us how did you get it on?
We all want to bring ours.

You can get a Desert Eagle chambered in .357 Magnum. Not exactly concealable, though.

I have a S&W .357, I suppose she could have stuck it somewhere, but where? The thing weighs a ton and is not something you could carry with summer clothing.

Not on yourself.
In the carry on luggage.
Properly oriented there's probably less than 1 in 10 chance the highschool dropout will see it.

Most "journalists" don't know which end of the tube the round comes out of, let alone such niceities as caliber, action, etc.

Better her than a Hijacker. All passengers with a permit to carry should be allowed to carry on any flight starting and endinf in conus.

Local Philly TV is reporting that she claims she carried it on to the plane without knowing it was in her baggage - apparently it went through the federalized screening procedures in Atlanta without detection, and was found when she changed planes in Philadelphia by the screeners there, who have not yet been made part of the federal program - so much for more effective screenings under government control.......

Woman Detained After Allegedly Carrying Handgun on Plane
Sunday, August 25, 2002
Associated Press PHILADELPHIA The FBI plans to pursue charges Monday against a woman detained for allegedly arriving at Philadelphia International Airport aboard a flight from Atlanta with a handgun, officials said.
Airport security officers stopped the woman Sunday morning and found she was carrying a .357 Magnum handgun, Philadelphia police spokeswoman Officer Maria Ibrahim said. The suspect was taken into custody by the FBI, which was handling the case.
"We are going to file charges tomorrow ... as soon as a magistrate signs the warrant," FBI spokeswoman Linda Vizi said Sunday evening.
Vizi would not comment on what charges the woman might face, or disclose any other details, including the woman's identity or home address. The agency was waiting for an affidavit to be prepared before pursuing charges, she said. No one was injured and no flights were delayed, officials said.
Several broadcast stations, citing airport police, reported that the woman was traveling on US Airways and was detained as she went through security on her way to a connecting flight at about 9:30 a.m.
The gun was found in a suitcase, the broadcasters reported. "I understand there was a security incident," said US Airways spokesman John Bronson of Arlington, Va., who referred questions to local and federal authorities.
A spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration in Washington, D.C., also declined to provide details.
"The alleged breach of security at Atlanta International Airport is under investigation," said spokesman Nico Melendez.
I wonder what connecting flight she planned to make, and what her destination was supposed to be. I'd imagine that everything and everyone going onto that connecting flight received extra scrutiny--but that might be too much to hope for :)

Maybe it was some new "all polymer" jobbie and she carries it unloaded and sans clip. Then she could just walk right through the metal detector.
