Ryan had this to say about the man who had served as the 17th District congressman since 1985, was convicted in April of this year on 10 federal criminal charges, and was sentenced to prison on July 30: "Being 21 years old and having the opportunity to work in Washington, D.C., I saw an extremely charismatic figure who was entertaining. He seemed passionate about helping move this country forward. From what I could see, it was all true."
Thanx for giving Jim Traficant such a ringing endorsement, Mr. Ryan.
And here's how the former chairman of the Mahoning County Democratic Party, who was once a political rival of the former congressman and sheriff of Mahoning County, characterized what Traficant had done in prison: "[He's] still looking out for the working guy."
Ah! ANOTHER great endorsement for the wigged one.
Folks, Traficant WILL WIN this election thanx in part to these fantastic endorsements!!!

Hanni said that Traficant asked prison officials to assign him to a recreation facility, which pays about $5 a month. Traficant hasn't figured it out yet:
You're in prison, buddy. You do what they tell you to do. You don't get to choose what work you are assigned. That's what it means to be in prison.

Although he was sent to prison, seems Torcielli and the Clintons got off easy.
This made me wonder what happened to Condit? Does he plan to run as an independent?

"James A. Traficant Jr. has been placed in lock-down mode after refusing to work in the kitchen at his federal prison, says a lawyer who visited the ex-congressman," the story stated. It quoted Atty. Don L. Hanni Jr., who visited Traficant at the Federal Correctional Institution at Allenwood in White Deer, Pa., as saying that the expelled congressman believed the kitchen job, which pays about $60 a month, should have gone to one of the inmates on a waiting list who has no family and no money in his commissary account. Good move. It was probably a setup. They'd of crucified him had he taken the position.

You're in prison, buddy. You do what they tell you to do. Ever read the book Will by the G-Man? The G-Man turned things around on the warden by secretly taping him and then bringing to light the warden's corruption. Kind of like a REAL LIFE Shawshank Redemption. Perhaps Traficant will do something similar but Methinks he will be RELEASED from prison too soon for him to get that opportunity.

wish i could vote for this fine fellow Me too. I don't agree with Traficant on everything and probably even agree with the Republican candidate on more issues but in this case, I would have to make an exception. I LOVE the way Traficant has stirred things up in the normally boring Congress. He is the exact opposite of the typical "sosh" type who runs for office and that counts for a lot. Plus I do like a lot of what he says. Can you imagine the commotion Traficant would stir up again if he gets back into Congress? And there is a GOOD chance of this. First of all, I think Traficant will WIN the Congressional election. On top of that, if he ever gets a GOOD appeals attorney, I am sure his case would be overturned on appeal. Judge Wells, by her OWN ADMISSION, stated that she had a CONFLICT OF INTEREST in that case.

Isn't Trafficant still a democrat? I don't think so. When he appeared on C-SPAN a day or two before being expelled, he had much harsher things to say about the Democrats than about the Republicans.

ANOTHER great endorsement for the wigged one.
I still contend the wig was nothing more than a prop, and a good one at that.
Who will forget Ross Perot with his visual aids and pointer?
Who was "the faller"?
To: PJ-Comix
Traficant will win. And, he'll serve two purposes. First, he's P.O.ed at the democrats so he will vote against them at most every turn. Second, any attention drawn to him is automatically drawn to N.J. senator Torricelli (spelling?) who has basically committed the same crime but has walked. This double standard will hurt not only Torricelli but the democrat party as a whole.

"This made me wonder what happened to Condit? Does he plan to run as an independent?" I asked this same question when Condit lost the primary. I was told by a CA Freeper that CA has a loser law. Meaning, if you lose in a primary, you cannot switch party affiliation and run in the general as a spoiler.
Condit's toast.

Also Traficant said a lot harsher things about Janet Reno and the sellout of American satellite secrets by the Clintonistas to the Chinese for cash than the Republicans in Congress dared say.

I still contend the wig was nothing more than a prop... Don't be too surprised to see Traficant singing squirrel/wigs being sold soon as a Hallowwen and/or Christmas item. Personally I would like to see the Traficant squirrel/wig sing "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" ala William Shatner (Captain Kirk).
BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY!!!

Would you mind linking to a copy of the book or at least giving the full name of the author?
I can't seem to find it based on what you have given out.
