I always respect your opinion and usually agree, however I am questioning my feelings about Ashcroft. He doesn't seem to be doing as much as I would like in cleaning up the mess Janet left. He definitely talked about Hatfeild differently. This guy has been given "special" treatment it was on the Florida news about the one picture incident.

Well, Janet did leave a big mess with a little help from Louis Freeh over at the FBI. I'm withholding judgment on this matter. I don't know what kind of games have been played with Hatfill's life but some people have a breaking point and obviously, this didn't roll off of Hatfill. Now he is obsessed with the entire matter to the point of getting counsel.

Saying that this rises to an ethics violation by Ashcroft may get heard but Hatfill will lose. That's the way it will come down IMO, but the dems will definitely use this issue all during the primaries and November elections. HATFILL HANDED THEM AN ELECTION ISSUE. "Here you go Mr. MacAuliffe, at your service."

Actually, he has to bring up Ashcroft just to get into the news. That's the only way to get the attention of the media. Otherwise, he will be ignored. Nonetheless, the bulk of his comments were aimed at the accusers in the press.

His accusers, both in the New York Times and in the American Federation of Scientists, do seem to have a credibility problem.

The NY Times gets info for one reason, however: when someone wants to put out some information for FOREIGN consumption, they do so by leaking to the NY Times.
