Europe is offended by everything and everybody.
That's just their lot on this planet.
So be it.

...We have nothing against McDonald's but the timing of this is insensitive," said Gunstein Instesjord With all due respect to Mr(s?) Intesjord but when have there NOT been millions starving in Africa?
To: panther33
It smells like a shakedown. Meryl Streep and Robert Redford better donate all the money they made from "Out of Africa". Didn't Toto have an "Africa" album. I guess Weight Watchers better cancel that Ethiopian diet too.
On a personal note, I would never eat a speck of food that had anything to do with Africa anyways. McAfrika sounds like indegestion!

"McAfrika sounds like indegestion!" It makes me think of the "Starvin' Marvin" episode of South Park.
Please forgive me. I'm on a weird South Park kick tonight.

Why are they starving in Southern Africa?
1. Could it be partially be due to all of the white farmers are being kicked off their farms where all the food was produced and replaced by people who haven't the slightest idea how to plant a seed.
2. Could it be the governments mismanaged the agricultural situation?
3. Could it be like Sudan and Ethopia where the governments moved the native population from their farms to areas they could no longer farm?
IT IS ALL THREE! This is a man made problem we can not solve. It is not America's fault!
And before you says this is racist, there were hardly any blacks living in what was called Rhodesia. Most white people there have a longer tradition of living their than blacks.

Europe offends me with it's smug self rightious attitude.
Who produced Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, and all those dictators? Who brought us Communism and Nazism? Who brought us the witch burnings? Who brought us concentration camps? THOSE SMUG EUROPEANS!

There's nothing wrong with the recipe. Would you eat it prepared with African ingredients??? I just don't think of food and Africa. How about a nice big glass of African spring water on the side? Regardless, the fund-raising pimps in Norway see a big fat (dumb) American target, and they want to put the squeeze on them.
To: panther33
And if they called it anything else, someone from Africa would be screaming "RIPOFF".
To: panther33
The concoction of beef, cheese, tomatoes and salad in a pitta-style sandwich is said to be based upon an authentic African recipe and is being sold to Norwegian consumers for about £2.80.So, what's up with this latest bit of "marketing genius"?!?
Maybe if I lived in Norway, I'd know...haven't heard of this here in the good old U.S. of A., LOL!!

"But aid agencies trying to raise funds to stave off a famine in southern Africa say that the timing of the McAfrika marketing campaign is insensitive, crass and ill-considered and have demanded remedial action from McDonald's" I'll tell you what's insensitive, crass, and ill-considered. Even thinking about feeding a bunch of racist murderer's in South Africa. Not one grain of American wheat should end up there.

First they drive out all the white farmers who produced food, and kill the ones that couldn't run fast enough. Then they wonder why they are starving.
Let them starve, maybe they will learn the meaning of "THOU SHALT NOT STEAL!" (the land of those poor farmers)
