Hezbollah delegation ends three-day visit to Iran

delegation representing Hizbullah’s Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, headed by Nabatieh MP Mohammed Raad, ended a three-day visit to Iran, during which it met with the country’s top leaders, a Hizbullah statement said Thursday.

The statement quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi saying he hoped the visit would further consolidate parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, drawing attention to the political activity of Hizbullah and its “regional importance.”

Kharrazi said Iran was trying to “warn of the dangers of the American onslaught on Iraq, which will cover the entire Islamic region.

“Should we succeed in our efforts, this will definitely lead to cohesion among countries of the region to confront the lurking danger,” he added.

I have little problem with seeing the dictatorial regimes of the region cohere in their self-destruction.

But I think Kharrazi might be a wee bit wrong on the "entire Islamic region" bit. For example, it is my understanding (I could be wrong) that Morocco is moderate, rather friendly to America, and I know I've heard no complaints here about their government.

On the other hand, Musharraf's unilateral alteration of the Afghani constitution in his favor is worrisome. Left uncorrected, I think this could result in a Vietnam-like mess on our hands.

Morocco is indeed moderate. There woman are not beaten up when not wearing headscarfs. When their king married I couldn't see even one headscarf at the whole party on tv.
