Several members of Free Republic were fortunate enough to attend this inspiring speech by President Bush in my hometown in Oregon. By last night the left had distorted much of what was said....IF they listened at all.

To clear up any confusion, the speech is listed here in full. Mr. Bush was articulate, poised, charming and INFORMED. Free Republic can take credit for much of that.

I was proud of Southern Oregon and the warm welcome they gave our president in spite of the bussed in useful idiots for the extreme environmental movement.

A local reporter asked Gayle Norton if she agrees with the president on his ideas and she said "yes, absolutely". He asked Ari Fleisher, who viewed one of the burns with the president, how Mr. Bush felt about it all. Ari said that it "saddened" the president. (sp?)

Hundreds of people also gathered in a field a mile or so from the Medford Airport with huge flags to welcome President Bush as Air Force One flew in. If you missed this speech on the news yesterday, I hope you will enjoy reading it now.

Thanks AuntB. I'm going to give this a thorough reading between the lines this evening. As for now, it's shoveling and hand-loading gravel for a drainage control project.

WOW, shoveling is proven to harm the Environment, and isn't drainage a protected natural event, not to be messed with by humankind?

And don't get me started on the introduction of foreign gravel species into a micro-sphere. The effects could be enormously harmful...

There's some -- recently I signed what they call a supplemental bill. And in that bill there was some -- the Black Hills National Forest, east of here, got some treatment about how to thin, how to make sure that that forest was well preserved. My attitude is, if it's good enough for that part of South Dakota, it's good enough for Oregon.

Ha HA Ha!! Gotta love that! Just try to spin that, Dashole!

LOL! I'm mitigating the damage done by a rotting culvert on a road owned by Santa Cruz County here in the Peoples Repubelick of Kalifornia.

And to tell you just how bent we conservatives get out here, my two home-schooled girls came into my office just a couple of minutes ago after their singing practice asking to play a song for their uncle the socialist school teacher this evening... I don't know where they got it... it's relly cute... two little blonde girls in cute dresses singing along...

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition,
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition,
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition and we'll all stay free!!!

Hehehehe

"Here's the theory behind that. If you let a person keep their own money -- and by the way, we're not talking about the government's money, when we're spending money, we're talking about the people's money. (Applause.) You let somebody keep their own money, they're likely to demand a good or a service. And if they demand a good or a service, somebody is likely to produce that good or service. And when somebody produces a good and service, somebody is more likely to find work. (Applause.)

Nice to hear the Prez say this.

My attitude is, if it's good enough for that part of South Dakota, it's good enough for Oregon
That's just the nature of how the Senate rules work.
But I caution the Congress, we need a bill that worries more about the workers, and not about the trial lawyers in America.
I'm worried about frivolous and junk lawsuits, frivolous and junk lawsuits that are making it harder for our citizens to get access to health care
It worries me that frivolous and junk lawsuits are running up the cost of medicine.
But these frivolous and junk lawsuits are denying people who have actually been injured their day in court
When I gave the speech about corporate responsibility in New York, I said in my speech, the business schools in America need to be willing to teach right from wrong
The more we value the ability to worship God the way we see fit, the more they hate us
Look, I didn't run for office saying, vote for me, the government is going to be bigger. That wasn't my promise. I did say, I'll try to make it better.
And unfortunately, that's not the way thought Senate bill looks right now. You see, some senators are more worried about their own turn than they are protecting the American people
They must have thought that we were so self-absorbed and so materialistic, and so worried about our own well being, and so selfish, that after September the 11th, we might file a lawsuit or two.
And that's the kind of war this is. It's a slowly but surely war. We're making progress so that our -- so we'll be free
People understand being a patriot is more than simply putting your heart and saying the Pledge of Allegiance to one nation under God.

I love this guy! Let's see. we've got -

* a couple of swipes at Democrats
* a big smackdown of trial lawyers
* a big swipe at Senators (especially Daschle)
* a vote for the Pledge of Allegiance
* another explanantion of the war

And now the Axis of Whiny Weasels can tell us all why they hate this guy.

That reminds me. The puny paid protesters really pushed the "axis of evil" theme on their uncreative signs...these people have NO imagination.....like: Bush,Cheney, Rumsfield.......Bush, Enron, Loggers....blah, blah....I almost got to upchuck on one of them....:<)

You know cable, the trial lawyer jabs were my favorite....we really need to investigate the contributions of trial lawyers given to these groups...but then most of the eco terrorists ARE lawyers. I don't mean the young, misguided dolts carrying the signs....they don't even know what they are coming in to town protesting sometimes. They just smile and hand you a paper...they have that same "daze" about them that the moonies in the airports used to have. It's a meal. From the looks of them, it didn't pay enough to get a bath as well.

Thanks for posting this! I fail to understand how anyone could defeat this guy during a political campaign - he understands and actually feels the way real Americans do instead of looking down on the rest of us like The Sleaze did. (Or Gore for that matter.)
