This guy sounds like one we had up here in Chicago named Lar
"America First" Daley. He ran for mayor against the Old Man Daley for many yrs. and was a local joke like this fellow.

His comments on Islam are on the mark, but he's a crackpot.

I live in the 6th, and I thought about running.
Several problems:
- I have a life, a wife, three kids and a mortgage. I have to have a real job.
- Even if I ran, I would get no support from the GOP since this district has been carved out to create a minority black district, safe for a black democrat. The 6th district covers at least 3 TV markets and stretches for 150+ miles across rural sections of SC.
- "The State" would find all of the internet postings I have made in the last 10 years and portray me as a raving lunitic, far to the right of Gary McLeod.

...and the good news, nobody cares what "The State" prints.
To: PJeffQ
Has "The State" ever published Clyburn's "extremist" views?
To: PJeffQ
The AIDS conspiracy theory alone would be enough to prevent me from voting for this guy ... what the hell is wrong with the Republicans in that district? McLeod might not be far off on some of his other comments, but the Republicans don't need crackpot conspiracy theorists as candidates the Cynthia McKinneys of the world should be encouraged to take their wacky ideas to the Democrats where they belong.

Read the previous posts.
SC-6th is a Gerrymandered district created to ensure a black democrat is elected. The GOP puts forth zero effort here. McLeod has run against Clyburn, the incumbent chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, three times and has lost by the expected percentage each time.
One would have to be a moron to run against Clyburn in this district, unless we can get a black democrat (like Majette in GA) to run.
Sad, but true.

So that means that three old women and every caged bird from Aiken to Abbeville will have read your ravings. :)

This guy needs to take a rest. Isn't there someone, anyone to oppose Clyburn?
To: PJeffQ
Garry McLeod ruffles the PC pods feathers." I just love his comments. I don't agree with all of them but where he's right, he's right. There used to be the days when people would speak their minds. Now the Thought Police makes sure you march in lockstep with the PC mantra.

I wonder when we will find someone in the 6th that has guts enough to run against Clyburn (other than this guy of course).
But I guess you could almost say that the 6th is typical of America today. Just leave well enough alone, don't make waves, I'm happy in front of my t.v. with the soaps and the football games type people.
SC Swampfox, why don't you run for office? Or if you don't want to do that, find someone who will Clyburn is of the same order as Hollings and others that have settled into Washington and "know" that the public is not going to do anything to rock the boat because they don't have to think -its easy to just pull one lever!
Isn't it time to start rocking boats, changing things for the better isn't easy and has to start somewhere.
To: SC Swamp Fox
Phooey! I don't believe that for a second SCSF. Talk to our friend in the 1st and see if he can give you some advice. Others held down jobs and ran for office at the same time. Just think of all the good you can do for yourself and your family and South Carolina and the Country.
To: Polonius
They are lazy.
To: SC Swamp Fox
I disagree with that. You don't have to be black or white to run against Clyburn, you just need the intestinal fortitude and the ability to get the correct message across.
