That is still the best memorial I have seen. Fox News should play it every hour on the hour on September 11. "Thank you" to the creator of that website.

Oops! I was thinking of
this thread when I posted that. Oh well, it's still relevant. I hope his 'talk' show is up and running on Sept. 11th. Let him spout arrogant on that day.

Does the lamestream press think we are children?yes.
To: Fishrrman
Will we have to wait until a nuclear device explodes in Manhattan before we face that reality?Well, that would take out most of the current crop of news managers...

Just think how that our news is dominated by "normalcy"-- corporate crooks; a prescription drug benefit for seniors; etc.
The media have done a great job of giving us collective amnesia.

Good point, and an excellent analogy!

"He is one arrogant POS." = Sociopath.

"There have been thoughtful conversations among our [news] executives as to what will take place before those images are inserted into any taped pieces," Gollust said. Those images do not BELONG to you. They belong to the American people and their progeny.
How dare you assume otherwise.

"It needs to be shown more than once, but certainly not so often that everyone becomes jaded. Agreed -- that is a distinct possibility."
I don't think showing it once an hour for one day is going to jade anybody. The KIDS need to see this.

I do not know how to use HTML to attach pictures on this site - or any other site, for that matter. But I know there are plenty of you who do.
How about someone puts a big picture of the planes rammed into the buildings. And then send the thread to every one you know - liberal and conservative. When they click on the link, the pictures will be the first thing seen. The thread can also be sent to news stations. If it is too dangerous to send on FreeRepublic and could get JimRob in trouble, how about we do it from our machines at home?

They ought to let the American public relive it by showing real time footage from that day as if it were all happening again. Rereading some of the threads that were happening that morning sends shivers down my spine. The initial report of a light commuter plane, the uncertainty of what had happened, the shock of the second attack occurring as everyone was tuned in, the gradual realization that we were at war with the Islamists, the sheer gut-twisting horror of seeing those two towers reduced to nothing more than a pile of rubble. And to think that Osama, Saddam and Yasser continue to draw breath!

"Lest we forget..." TRIBUTELet's keep this website bumped frequently for a while, until everybody gets a chance to view it. Save it and show it to your children frequently.

They put an American-hater like Peter Jennings on every night. But the images that have changed this nation will be shown once, on one day. Exactly. They would do anything to keep from getting us sheeple all whipped up into an anti-Muslin extremist frenzy again.
Can't have any of that nasty Nationalism sprouting up again, you know.

Thanks for your #54, Dog.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fox runs their stinkin' ad about "Stop the hate" every hour, though.

I caught hell for this thread last year when I posted it. In fact I haven't even looked at it for over six months.
I'll check it again of course but I do remember some good FReepers giving me some links in it.

a few days ago I put up the 9/11 images on my site ... I hadn't done so (except for a tribute) yet ... however, as the first anniversary approaches I have put them up and since the NEA is trying to whitewash the incident, it seems even more important ... I'm going to leave the tribute up as long as the site is up and the front page will stay up through September ... I think I'm going to add another image ... we must know what we're dealing with ... and they won't be dissuaded easily ...
