Every poll I have seen has said that Americans would like to see immigration levels reduced. Yet, our elected officials are falling all over each other to be nice to immigrant groups to get their vote.
While established Americans want a sane immigration policy, new immigrants and politicians want everyone to come.
Amnesty is a open door with a red carpet and a flashing neon sign saying "Welcome".

One of the Freepers had a brilliant idea.....One term of six years ONLY for President, so that he is not beholden to influences such as business, votes, re-election. A similar program could be adopted for the House and Senate...no more career pols with power trips.
