It's always the way, an irrational minority is more vocal than the sensible majority. I've heard a lot of people say things like "England is doomed in left wing hell" because all they see are the fools. Yet at the same time, when a foreigner looks at America, your fools - Carville, Clinton, et al, are always the loudest representatives of your country. It's a bit different now with President Bush in charge, of course.
But while there are problems, we have to approach it as if it is not the end of days - otherwise there is nothing to fight for. Overblown hysteria one way or another is unjustified. Just remaining calm, determined, forceful and persistent leads to victory. If we can maintain that, I have little doubt things will turn for both our countries.
