By Associated Press, 8/20/2002 10:48 DANBURY, Conn. (AP) Former President Clinton will campaign next month for Rep. James Maloney, a Democrat facing Republican Rep. Nancy Johnson in the redrawn 5th District, Maloney's campaign said Tuesday.
Clinton will visit Danbury on Sept. 9, appearing at a private reception and a fund-raising dinner at the Amber Room Colonnade.
''Like President Clinton, Jim wants America to return to sound fiscal policy, so we can strengthen our schools, protect Social Security and Medicare, pay down the national debt, and grow our economy again,'' Maloney spokeswoman Betsy Arnold said.
Johnson's campaign did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment. Vice President Dick Cheney campaigned for Johnson at an event in Hartford on July 15.

As if it's not a big enough disservice when he visits CT himself, he has to bring that with him?

Maloney is a welfare state building, tax-raising, pig-faced lout. I not only hope that he loses the election, I also hope he gets pustulent boils all over his body. Eye boils, even.

That tax-raising pasty faced gimp won't stand a chance against Nancy. Did you notice how he came out the gates with his negative ads?

boils, I say. pustulent ones. Oh, wait, his pig head is already one big pustulent boil, isn't it? That scum-sucking pig is almost as bad as Blumenthal.

have I mentioned recently that I'm unfond of Mr. Maloney?

What's the difference between his campaigning for Maloney or for Johnson? They're two peas in a pod anyway. I guess all that we can conclude is that Nancy doesn't put out.

I like Nancy- she came up with the Telemarketing Relief Act that stops telemarketers from calling you if you're on the no-call list. That makes her ace in my book.

Oh, you mean the opt-out program? Are you Jim Maloney, by any chance? Sorry to be so grim, but the published web site was missing and inoperable for months. The 800 number was perpetually busy. What a joke.
Telemarketing calls typically have no call-from number, or they block it. And then when you try to "opt-out" by mail, you must list who you want to block. In other words, who called you, when, and their telephone number. Thanks, but no thanks, Nancy. SNET's Privacy Manager is the only thing that saves this household from the telemarketers.
