I believe the jurors should be given credit for a very difficult trial--116 or so witnesses, mountains of forensic evidence, etc. to go through and to tell you the truth, I would imagine no one wants the stigma of giving a death sentence in the state of California because of PC'ism, etc.

Westerfield was not called to testify on his own behalf, for one thing....that was a red flag to me....

That is the key to the Highway. When a murder victim's blood ends up on your clothes, you'd better tell the jury in your own words how you think that blood got there. The fact is that nobody gave an explanation as to how it ended up there. That alone is more than enough evidence to convict anyone. It is the DNA equivalent of being caught with a smoking gun.

I really can't believe all these IDIOTS who think this guy is innocent. If he was innocent he would have taken the stand.

To be sure, that isn't unusual at all. Defense attorneys regularly instruct their clients not to testify on their own behalf.
