Her parents weren't on trial in this case, Westerfield was. They weren't on trial, but IMO, they supplied enough reasonable doubt to aquit.

Wait, I thought he was obviously innocent because the poor girl's parents were swingersDoesn't make him innocent. It creates reasonable doubt, however, IMO.
IMO, you flunk Logic 101. Blood doesn't lie.

Even one drop of blood, one strand of hair, and one fingerprint was enough to bring the jury to conviction.

You are free to believe whatever you wish.

Do you think it's impossible for a jury to come to a verdict that's inconsistent with the facts of the case, and do so for their own reasons?

I hope these threads get the death penalty. But I'm afraid we'll never hear the end of how this "good man" was framed by a vast conspiracy of swingers, law enforcement, crooked judges, crooked attorneys and stupid jurors.
To: P-Marlowe
No, Avila is guilty. I only fawn over the innocent ones.

"thanks for the running commentary. please keep narrating"
I had to step away for a few minutes to catch my breath..

I want to thank you for pinging me to the threads as this case developed. I know a lot of people are disappointed. But that would have been true with any verdict. I'm very glad that I was not on the jury. I hadn't formed a conclusion, I only prayed that God's will be done and I'm sure that it was.

How is that? They had her blood on his jacket, her hair in his motorhome, and her fingerprints in his motorhome...

He's gotta house in San Diego County that's worth nearly 400,000 dollars...Now I KNOW you haven't been following the case. He signed the house over to his lawyer months ago to cover attorney fees.
To: marajade
The house was signed over to feldman, probably for legal fees

Oh, yeah, the "system" worked...it proved that innocent men can be railroaded, and that juries are just rubber stamps for corrupt judges and prosecutors.
I am sick at this verdict.
To: luckodeirish
The men on the Menendez jury were going out of their minds with the illogic of the women who thought the boys couldn't possibly have killed their mother.
Sadly, women often tend to blame the victim rather than the perpetrator.

possibly in about 100 years, he may get the death penalty Yeah...that's the only thing. All the death penalty is going to mean for this guy is that he will be kept isolated and protected from the general prison population. Death penalty for murderers of adults is probably as severe as punishment gets. But, from what I hear, being in the general prison population (especially certain cell blocks and the guards usually know which ones) for ANY child murderer/molester would be MORE severe than the death penalty for this guy.

Sure... it happens all the time... But there was DNA evidence in this case ...

I thought I heard that he had signed it over to his son just after he got arrested?
