This was very evident in the questionaire I received. They wanted your opinion on issues not nearly as important to the future of this country as the question of illegal immigration. That is the major reason I will not donate to the party as a whole.

It's a very calculated and self-destructive omission. It would be nice to root out the triangulating whiz kids that have rammed this "strategy" down Republican throats.

Did you send an email to the Chairman telling him that closing our borders and getting rid of illegal immigrants would in itself reduce crime, reduce the need for larger classes or more teachers, strengthen the economy, lower the unemployment rate, reduce prison population, strengthen the security of American cities, reduce illegal drug shipments into the Southern states, and make American feel much more secure in their homes, perhaps enough to get them away from the television and encourage them to vote during elections.

I did. The most amusing part was the return email I received that said someone from the RNC would be getting in touch with me within 24 hours. No phone call yet.

If Bush doesn't 'get close' to how the average American citizen feels about illegal immigration he will surely take the same path as his father. If he doesn't come out with a plan severely reducing the illegal population in the US he is guaranteed to be a one termer.
