We should change and enforce the laws so that we have no legal or illegal immigrants who refuse to learn English, who have no education, who cannot afford their own health insurance or food or housing. We're letting in way too many criminals, indigents, and other losers who require billions of taxpayer dollars. We're seeing county hospitals all along the border on the edge of bankrupcy ---it's getting to a critical point.

No problem here at all with common sense requirements for immigration like economic viability. Nor do I have a problem with keeping criminals, or those from hostile nations out of the country. Anyone, whether they come here, or were born here, should be expected to take care of themselves. Welfare for the able bodied is pure evil. Thinnly disguised theft at the absolute best.

I can't agree with you about making an English a requirement. I believe English is necessary, but I'm more comfortable with societal pressure and market forces pushing English than I am government fiat. We don't need an Academe` France` making a laughing stock out of us in a pathetic attempt to protect our language. Leave that to the French.
