U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney blew through the allotted time at a candidate forum last week. A lady in back hoisted a red stop sign. Suddenly challenger Denise Majette leaned sideways and snatched the microphone from the congresswoman's hands.
"Your time is up," Majette cut in. "Just like it will be Aug. 20."
McKinney's supporters booed lustily. Majette's cheered. Majette sat down, smiling sheepishly.
Groundwork for contesting the election should McKinniy lose.
FloriDUH all over again....
Aw, crap. Just what we need, more hot air in town...
"Republican Crossover Vote Strong - The Atlanta Constitution provides more confirmation that Republicans are crossing over to vote in the Democratic primary in massive numbers. The original prediction was that maybe 35% of Republicans would do so, but it's beginning to look like the majority of them are. "With a hotly contested 4th District Congressional race between Cynthia McKinney and Denese Majette, DeKalb County elections officials were reporting a large number of voters casting Democratic ballots in today's primary." "A sampling of precincts showed an overwhelming number of voters choosing the Democratic ballot featuring the McKinney-Majette showdown." "At the Henderson Mill precinct, 300 voters had cast Democratic ballots by 10 a.m., while 54 Republican ballots had been cast, elections officials said." "And the margin was even wider in other precincts, including Rock Chapel (255 Democratic ballots to 7 Republican), Lakeside (220 to 7), Oak Grove (207 to 5) and Coralwood (265 to 13)." And, you can be sure, every one of those crossover votes is a vote for Majette."
Bulletin: GOP crossover in McKinney-Majette race significant
InsiderAdvantage
InsiderAdvantage?s Internet News Agency division is reporting that as of 10 a.m. traditionally heavy GOP precincts in North DeKalb County were showing a virtual abandonment of the Republican primary, with most voters choosing a Democratic ballot, presumably in order to vote in the nationally prominent 4th Congressional District race between incumbent Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and former state court Judge Denise Majette . Key sample precincts were reporting around 10 a.m. that nearly 85 percent of those voting were doing so in the Democratic primary election. These sample precincts saw roughly 80 percent of their 2000 primary voters choose a Republican ballot. As of noon, this number had grown to 94 percent of all ballots chosen in these precincts.
Meanwhile, it appears that the statewide GOP races will be heavily influenced by the turnout in the Barr-Linder 7th Congressional District race, where some polling locations have been swamped with GOP voters. Both Linder?s presumed stronghold of Gwinnett County and Barr?s strongest territory of Cherokee County have seen turnout surge far beyond that of the rest of the state. Turnout in other Republican races statewide appears to be light to moderate, making GOP races for governor and Congress on the Republican side a true toss-up.
Other turnout reports in Barr-Linder include Snellville in Gwinnett County, where at least one precinct that has never seen more than 500 GOP voters in a primary had exceeded that number by 11 a.m. And a precinct in Buford reportedly had been so overwhelmed that at one point it ran out of ballots.
Trends for South and Middle Georgia -- turnout reported to be on the light side.
Early Trend Projections/McKinney-Majette -- Crossover voting has been so strong that the one percent margin difference between the two candidates revealed in a poll of two weeks ago may prove to be right.
Not I. But it will be reported here. ;^)

If crossover turnout has been stronger than expected in a toss-up race going in, with crossover presumably favoring Majette, then early predictions should indicate a decent win for Majette. (Following that logic)
Yeah; Georgia Public Radio (http://www.gpb.org/gpr/)and WGST Radio (http://www.wgst.com/) are both set to provide live streaming coverage.
And the DemocRat who made this an issue should be stuffed and mounted in the Smithsonian as a unique specimen.
The video of this should be most entertaining.
And I agree, the Judge will be just another democrat when it comes to voting, but listen, in this instance, the lesser of two evils is really important. Majette is not a communist, she's not a terrorist sympathizer, a hate monger or a race baiter. The woman has actually accomplished something with her life. For my money, our country, if not that district, will be better off without Cynthia McKinney in congress.
