At any rate, I went to the URL you cited, and the piece of filth was sponsored by Powell's bookstore. Reloading the page replaced that ad with one from Microsoft. Again, and I saw Absolut vodka. Again, Visa card.
Good start. Maybe Bill Gates will listen to you, too.
The ads cycle and not all ads run in every section. I urge people NOT to click on them however as that generates click-thrus (or ad traffic) and may generate revenue for Salon.
