From what I have heard, he loved his country very much. I appreciate his military service as well as the music he left us.

On 24 March 1958, Elvis Aaron Presley began his service in the United States Army. Private Elvis Presley carried his duffle bag aboard the United States Troop Transport Ship, the USS General M. Randall (T-AP-115) on 22 September 1958 for his trip overseas.
Born into poverty in East Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Aaron Presley would grow up to become a Veteran, serving his country with pride, and the most famous entertainer of the twentieth century.
