When the fugitives were spotted between two cars on Plainfield Street, officers yelled, "Police, get down. Police, get down to the ground."

A bit late in the game perhaps, but I took a good look at the article and a couple of things kinda jumped out at me. First, although the writing was semi-ambiguous, I get the sense that Morales was shot in the back after firing once and having the rest of his magazine's load fall out of the gun. The cops lied about how many times he shot, because they didn't know that his gun was empty after being fired once. Tsk tsk, bad form.
The other thing is that this business about his "fugitive partner" hadn't registered before. What is known about this person? What part did he play in this situation? It seems odd, and other than that initial mention, there was no further information given about him.
There you go again!

Personally, I find that thought revolting! Please stop, OK?
