Mineta is an idiot....the sooner he is gone, the safer our country will be.

I've gotta disagree with that assessment. We've seen Carl Levin, Bob Dole, and Al Gore, to name just a few famous examples, harassed by these airport security idiots. Whatever you may think of their politics, the chances that these men would hijack an airplane are pretty slim.

About the same chance as, say, an 80-year old Medal of Honor winner?

I'd love to see someone in the press have the balls to ask Bush the obvious: would he authorize the shooting-down of a hijacked commercial jetliner, if Laura Bush were among the passengers held hostage?

You know the answer just as well as I do: we're dealing with a man and people around him who hold their own lives - and their own conveniences - above those of average Americans. There's no "heart of a servant" to be found here.

I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Norm Mineta that was broadcast last weekend, and came to the conclusion that Mr. Mineta is a danger to Americans. The trauma that he went through during his boyhood in the internment camps has left Mr. Mineta a disabled person.

Yes, Norm Mineta is mentally disabled and is unable to perform his job properly. His absolute refusal to use ethnic profiling is proof of this.

The flags that Mr. Mineta cited that trigger security interest - use of cash to buy one-way airline tickets - wouldn't have applied to the 9/11 hijackers who used credit cards to purchase round-trip tickets.

Yet Mr. Mineta sat there with a straight face as if he didn't realize that the factors his agency promulgates don't apply. How stupid is that?

While I laughed out loud at the interview, Mr. Mineta is dangerous because of the job he holds. President Bush needs to place someone who doesn't suffer from a mental disability in charge of the TSA.

Mineta's stupidity, arrogance and incompetence make my blood boil. So much so, that I feel it absolutely necessary to advocate doing something constructive about getting his idiot rear-end out of any position of power.

This moron has offended absolutely EVERYBODY - of all political stripes. His high-handed buffoonery has netted Bob Dole, a Dem Congressman, AlGore, Medal of Honor winners, Deadheads and all kinds of ordinary citizens of all beliefs.

We should propose to President Bush, that in the spirit of bipartisanship, he offer up to the Democrats, this clown for a public rebuke, a stripping of rank, and the message that we as a nation will not tolerate rank incompetence in our war on terror, even if he's part of a Republican cabinet. The Democrats want to nail a cabinet member - so let's give them this pinhead. Call it a unifying gesture for the entire nation.

*sniff*...*sniff*...that's so beautiful, man.

All together now: Kumbayah, my Lord...

They ALL were harrassed by airport security, which proves my point that being famous or noteworthy does not protect you from an airport security search.

I'd love to see someone in the press have the balls to ask Bush the obvious: would he authorize the shooting-down of a hijacked commercial jetliner, if Laura Bush were among the passengers held hostage? That's just a tad over the top, don't you think? You made the claim that powerful citizens didn't have to follow the same airport security rules as the rest of us. I listed a few famous examples to counter your point, then instead of conceding that the airport security rules affect everyone, you give this silly hypothetical. And your condemnation of Bush sounds more like a DU post than a freeper one!

Not really. I just came up with a hypothetical situation to ask aloud if, as in Orwell's Animal Farm, some people in this country might be more "equal" than others.

You made the claim that powerful citizens didn't have to follow the same airport security rules as the rest of us.

That's funny... I thought no one was really more powerful than anyone else in America. Or was supposed to be more powerful, anyway.

And your condemnation of Bush sounds more like a DU post than a freeper one!

And your condemnation of someone who's pointed out Bush's hypocrisy sounds more like a sycophant than a citizen.
