Indianola, Ia. - When Sherry Herold and four of her fellow church members change out of their Sunday clothes, they put on their shooting vests.

They really do praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

They're the Mount Calvary Church Ladies Trapshooting Team.

"I find that I dance better with a shotgun"...Is this called Shotgun Dancing or what they do at a "Shotgun Wedding"?

My mom is a crack shot with a 20 gauge. My dad gave it to her on their 10th wedding anniversary.

Awesome story! I just recently took my sister trap shooting for the very first time. It was such a pleasure to introduce someone to the sport.

"My mom is a crack shot with a 20 gauge. My dad gave it to her on their 10th wedding anniversary."

When I was up at my auto-insurance agency recently, a woman working there told me what her husband gave her for their anniversary in 1996 - a Browning Auto-5! She also told me about her taking a deer with a .243.

Both my parents have sort of put hunting aside now in their later years, but I remember shooting with my parents as a kid. My poor dad was always the shooter of last resort. If the bird was missed by me, and by my mom, my dad would take it. I've never met anyone who could come close to my pop for shooting, but my mom was as good or better than any of the guys I hunt with.

Our event is taking place on a Saturday, but maybe we should all go to church the next day:

The California Chapter of Second Amendment Sisters, Inc is pleased to host a....

Ladies’ Handgun Seminar and Practice Session!

When: Saturday, August 24th, 2002, 12 – 4 pm Where: James Mangan Range, Sacramento Who: Women with no firearms
experience wishing to learn AND Women experienced with firearms wanting to practice Cost: $10 donation to SAS or FREE
with SAS membership Reservations (strongly recommended): 1-877-724-1787 or ca_co_coord@2asisters.org

Schedule: 12-1 Lunch in the park (provided by SAS) 1-2 Safety and Operation Introduction (NRA certified instructor) 2-4
Range Time

Firearms and ammunition will be provided. Range Safety Officers will be on hand for individual supervision and assistance.

Our event will focus on introducing women who have never shot before to safety practices and providing a chance to pull the
trigger in a safe, controlled, supervised environment. We hope to demonstrate that firearms are not scary, and are a very viable
option to women who are concerned about their self-defense. However, all women – regardless of experience level - are
welcome to attend!

Ladies, we hope to see you Saturday, August 24th. Gentlemen, please spread the word to the women in your life – invite them
to join us for a day of fun!

Thanks, and please contact me with any questions or to reserve your spot! Space is limited.

"My husband agreed that if I tried the trap shooting team, he would take swing-dancing lessons with me, and he did," Gould said. "I've discovered I dance better with a shotgun."

I just passed this on as an email quote of the day. Priceless!
