PHOENIX -- A Chandler transsexual has brought forth a novel lawsuit in U.S. District Court.

Rebecca Kastl says Maricopa County Community College District banned her from using the women's restrooms at the school where she was a teacher and a student.

Kastl says transsexualism is a congenital disorder. She also says the college's actions violate the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Kastl says she began suffering from gender identity disorder after she was hired at the Estrella Mountain campus two years ago.

She then decided to make a surgical transition from male to female.

According to the lawsuit, students at the school objected when Kastl began using the women's restroom.

The district ordered Kastl to use the men's lavatory until she provided proof of the surgical alteration of her genitalia.

I'm no genetic engineer... but isn't it quite simple to identify sex by checking chromosomes? Can't this case be easily dismissed by forcing the MAN to take the test?
