From the story, it sounds like the police officer was parked next to Don Matthews' car...when the police officer saw the gun...he started making his way towards his car's passenger-side door...that is when Matthews shot his gun and hit the officer in the buttocks.

Below is a letter that was left at the slain officer's [Eric Taylor] memorial.

“Dear Eric,” it begins, “Sorry you had to die for a speeding ticket (12 mph over the limit). I’m sure that you now know it was NOT WORTH IT! Perhaps your fellow revenue collectors, er I mean, ‘Peace officers’ would do well to take a lesson from your death and think twice about stopping people who are hurting no one and merely traveling the Public way.”

The second paragraph described Donald W. Matthews, a Jackson Township resident who died in Friday night’s shootout, as a strong man and “peaceful by nature but steadfast in his beliefs of what is Right and the supreme law of the land ... .”

“Don was my friend and I must forgive you for acting with your fellow ‘officers’ a.k.a. like a pack of wild dogs, and for killing him,” the letter reads.

Police removed the letter, which ended: ““For God and our Constitutional Republic, I am; Capt. Emma Shlarp.”

Police said they aren’t looking for Shlarp.

I did a search on the name this morning. I did a reverse lookup on her phone number (listed in one of the links) and found out that she lives in the Canton, Ohio area; plus her email is a Canton area email address too.

When I read that the police were not looking for Shlarp. I decided to do a search on the name. Then I sent all of the information to the Chief of Police in Massillon. He wrote back to me and said thanks and said he would pass the info on to the investigators.

Then this afternoon on the news (TV) I heard that the Massillon police spoke to the woman...but the police would not give out any information.

I thought they should talk to her. ;-)

I use the term "neo-Leninist" for any ideology which is prone to advocating and initiating violence. Mr. Matthews may never have heard of dialectical materialism or the class struggle, but he sure followed Mao's dictum about political power growing out of the barrel of a gun.
