OH - this weekend - good! Glad I didn't miss it. Glad to have people keep me straight.....LOL.

Sounds like Ann Richards to me.....or any of her Demrat clones.

He was, no doubt, expecting this to be a "show" because during the Clinton years - that is EXACTLY what was held - many times - SHOWS with no substance.

The economy of the 90's was a mirage as we are now learning - fueled both by out of control "GREED" by the people on the top - and the insiders like Terry McCAuliffe - at Global Crossings - and manipulated by the Rubin led financial companies. Rubin sure knew how to throw a fake party, that's for sure. And, in the end, as always, the little guys, the noninsiders, the hard working employees instead of the party hack insiders, are the ones who lose out.

Nothing was done or said by the ClintonDemrats about how to protect the little guys and their 401K during those fake years.

And when you control the media paying guys to pump the market even though the info was fake - well - what do you get? A FAKE BUBBLE!

Everything about the Clintonled Demonrats is a fake - except their propensity to defraud, steel, cheat, lie, kill - as long as they gain power and control.

If your people ever get total control - which might happen because people are fools and the rest - almost - are corrupt ---- we will be no different than the USSR, than Cuba, than N. Korea, than Communist China. What a shame that you have ONE IOTA OF ALLEGIANCE TO A PARTY OF ENSLAVING DESTROYERS!

Hello, fellow grocery shoppers, lol! We have one Albertson's in our area and the prices are unbelievable, and you have to use their special store card to get that $8.99/lb. steak. We have no grocery competition left in this area since Winn-Dixie pulled out a few months ago. HEB has a virtual monopoly with "special" pricing for our market. I swear they are pulling older merchandise off the shelves in San Antonio and Austin and sending it to Waco area stores. Dairy items are all at or very close to the pull date and the produce is literally rotten and swarming with fruit flies. The store near me is poorly stocked, the help is rude, and I am po'd everytime I have to go in there. Praying we get some competition some day.

who owns the kneepad concession around this place?

This comment was extremely out of line and insulting. Obviously you are incapable of making a rational, intelligent argument based on fact to support your opinions. Tossing around baseless, obscene innuendo reflects on your total inability to say anything of substance.

the engulfing irony does not leave me, of President Bush owning a new home only 25 miles from the scene of his predecesor's mass murder of our fellow citizens

It is ironic, isn't it? Of course, anywhere you look Bubba managed to ruin something.

Funny, when we were discussing the people who blindly followed anything the dems threw out there a couple years back it was considered quite reasonible. I'm sure a search of those days will turn up a several references to the kneepad wearing klintoon crew.

Used to shop at HEB all the time when I lived in Boerne and would go to Albertson's occasionally.

Then came up here to Norman and they had Albertsons and then they built a second Albertersons. Thought their prices were high when I first moved here but they are worse now!

They did get competition with two Super Walmarts that came to town after they built the second store which have turned out to be very good grocery stores with fresh produce, etc which actually shocked me. Our three IGA stores are pretty competitive. Also have a chain called Homeland. So competition came to Norman and Albertson's had to cut their prices some but they are still higher than anyone else. I shop very little at Albertson's because of their prices -- call it my mini protest against them!

Um, no. Nice try, but your comment was most definitely addressed to female posters on this thread. Still unable to articulate exactly what your objections are to the economic forum without getting personal?

Lucky you that you have some competition. We have the one Albertson's, Walmart and KMart, but no grocery chains besides HEB. The SuperWalMart isn't bad, but I don't care for their prepackaged meat. I go to Sam's every six weeks or so and stock the freezer with meat. It's all getting very time consuming! I didn't realize you were in Norman. I have found memories of the area from spending time there as a child with my grandparents.

I have no idea who the female posters on this thread are, and I didn't see any concern about offending them when the term was used during the klintoon years.

As to the economic forum, I have nothing against a photo op/fundraiser. I just recognize one when I see it.

Yes, it was obvious you felt no concern about offending anybody. Care to tell us about the fundraising at the economic forum? If there were any press reports about fundraising I missed them. How much money was raised? Who contributed? Who are the beneficiaries of the fundraising?

" This is a figure of speech in our part of the country."

That good ole boy rhetoric is fine for private moments (off-mike), or when he's picking his beagle up by the ears - even LBJ knew that - but he should really learn to be a little more succinct. The correct term should have been "event" or, as you noted "forum".-

As far as your "part of the country" I'm not quite sure where that is and for all you know I live in Cut and Shoot, Midland or in downtown Waco. After all the term "Really big show" started on the Ed Sullivan program -

And thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to write.

If you're going to cut and paste my replies have the honesty to paste the whole statement. I'm sure you showed an equal outrage at those who used the term to define the dems.

A lot of the campaign donations of those attending have already been made public. I think you'll have to do some looking to find the story, if you're interested. As to future donations, we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm sure the President will appreciate your critique and take it to heart. Speaking of busy schedules, you must have a lot of time on your hands since you can spend so much of your day finding fault with the President's turn of a phrase. Astute people understood his intent perfectly, but thank you for providing your take on things for those here who can't think for themselves.

Parsing - now there is a term that sounds all too familiar - parsing words?

Well explained, McLynnan.

Not that it will make any difference.

You had a three line post. My apologies for not realizing that each and every word was dear to you. For those who missed it, Steve has special pride in authorship of post #70 which I failed to copy in its entirety.

Campaign donations had absolutely nothing to do with the economic forum. You made the allegation that the economic forum was a fundraiser. Waiting patiently for you to back up your statement with some documented facts.

Perhaps you would like to show a post concerning your outrage at the term in question being used for the previous administration supporters.
You use partial quotes and misdirection like a pro. Is this a job or a hobby for you

You are the one making the allegations about posts concerning the former administration, not me. Back up your own accusations because I don't have time to do your research for you. You will see I quoted your WHOLE post. Still waiting for those economic forum fundraising facts.
