Wal-Mart Stores Inc. , the world's largest retailer, on Tuesday said quarterly profit rose more than 25 percent as consumers flocked to the discounter in the slow U.S. economy.
Well, they must be doing something right. The object of operating a business in America is still to make money, isn't it?
Apparently, the wages their employees are paid, or the merchants that provide their products, or their home base of operations does not factor into the decision-making of their customers.
I will never understand the fixation some on this forum have with this company.
This is information from a fellow I worked with maybe fifteen years ago who had just previously been the plant manager of a mid-western clock manufacturer that had Wal-Mart has one of their big customers.
As long as we are on the subject of Wal-Mart bashing here is another reason to dump their stock and shop elsewhere. Wal_mart has a new policy to not complete gun transactions when the NCIS instant check is not instant.
This is definitely anti gun and they quit selling handguns in 1994. Statistically about 28% of the instant backround checks will not be instant. In my own experience out of four guns purchsed under Brady only one was instant and even that took 5 minutes. Try getting an instant check on a Sunday, I have seen entire guns shows screwed up due to instant check glitches.
