"Uh...negative...we have an energy leak. Large leak, very dangerous."
"Who are you? What's your operating num--"
(Solo shoots comm panel)
"It was a boring conversation anyway."
An understandable error, though. Pat did cuddle up to Fulani during the runup to the Reform Party National Freak Show Convention.
It appears that "neocon" means whatever a person wants it to mean. Strange, isn't it?
The Washington Post's Dana Milbank, author of the Bush-bashing book Smashmouth, called Perle the "intellectual guru of the hard-line neoconservative movement in foreign policy." (America fruitlessly awaits Milbanks piece on the "hard-line progressive movement.")
The attack on Pearle is most interesting. Richard Pearle was one of the architects of Reagan's successful strategy to pursue victory in the Cold War, rather than settle for "co-existence" (as Chris Matthews' hero Jimmy Carter wanted to do). So naturally, he is now an arch-fiend.
One time for sure when you should "beware" -- when leftist media and paleocons attack you simultaneously. To me, that means you really are doing the right thing.
Thanx for bringing this back to my memory. You're right. Something's wrong when lefties and far-Rightists begin to sound so similar. The subject of Israel demonstrates this similarity perfectly.
IMHO, the title "conservative" is nothing more than a ruse when the conservative in question sounds like a Leftist on a particular subject. For a conservative to make an argument that is indistinguishable from what a Leftist might say shows something is bubbling beneath the surface on the so-called "conservative" side.
You can't play a playa, and game recognizes game.
As for me, I'm SERIOUSLY anti-Left. I totally despise their mindset, and all of the Left is my sworn enemy. Therefore, if I read or hear a conservative sound like them, I number them (the conservatives) among my enemies.
tictoc was overheard saying almost the exact same words recently, at a barbecue with friends. Major eye-rolling ensued, and one friend turned her hands with fingers crossed towards tictoc, as if to ward off an evil spell.
Then the pitchforks came out.
Ronald Reagan was no wimp. Thomas Sowell is no wimp. David Horowitz is no wimp. Jeff Jacoby is no wimp. I'm no wimp (and am mostly vicious). So what do you mean?
But one thing for sure, it's a sad thing when conservatives get con-ned into letting former leftist dingbats speak for them.(already an epidemic)
This statement of yours proves you know little, if anything, about politics. Looking at where I come from, I have an insight into the Leftist mind that you purists can only dream about. This insight is helpful in knowing how to defeat the Left. Politically speaking, the paleos I see here are absolutely clueless about truly beating the Left. You'd think that it would be great for conservatives to consider the angles provided by those of us who have been on the other side. But, no! We are supposed to be shunned as impure by your side.
I subscribe to no man's dogma. Therefore, any ideological or political "purity" I reject harshly.
For instance, take Horowitz's book "The Art of Political War (And Other Radical Pursuits)." He's offering insight not only into the Leftist mind, but, how wage political war against them. This is something the paleos just don't get. Another book by Horowitz is his new "How to Beat the Democrats (And Other Subversive Ideas)." It's fascinating. Tom DeLay called it, ""An indispensable guide to political combat."
It is.
Where's something similar from the paleos?
I see the neocons taking the fight to the Left, not the paleos. Sure, the paleos will complain, but they've yet to offer any policy or plan that does this. Who are the ones taking on the college battle about reparations?
It ain't the paleos.
Who's more apt to attempt to convince American blacks that it is okay to leave the RAT plantation and to consider conservatism?
It ain't the paleos. In fact, they're more apt to say something stupid which does the job of the Left it making them appear racist. Doesn't matter if they are or are not racist. Just the appearance will do.
In other words, words mean things. Once a word has gone out, it can't be rescinded.
And on it goes.
No more balancing. You've fallen off flat on your face (and into another area that I'll let go for now).
LOL.
Evidence?
Our current bumper crop of neocons are 'RATS that fled the sinking wooden ship GoreLoserman and are willing to be Neo-anythings to get in with the winning team.
Don't quit your day job.
