New Policy Saves Lives

It was reported today that a Jenin man had shot his son in the leg after he learned - from the IDF - that his son was planning a suicide attack against Israel. In addition, another father brought his son to an IDF checkpoint and turned him in, claiming that the young man was planning a suicide attack. The army says that these are only two of several recent incidents affirming the effectiveness of its new policy of demolishing homes and expelling terrorist relatives in saving Jewish lives.

Another suicide terrorist from northern Jerusalem was arrested today, following the arrest of his accomplice - a female minor - a few days ago.

Although the terrorist groups may be considering a reduction in their attacks against Israelis (see above), signs of it on the ground are still slim. An army sapper was lightly wounded by gunfire in central Gaza early this morning, and a wanted terrorist of Fatah's Al Aksa Brigades was shot and killed by an IDF force near Jenin last night... Army forces arrested 11 wanted terrorist fugitives in the Ramallah and Shechem regions over the night. Two soldiers were wounded by Palestinian gunfire today, in two separate incidents near Jenin… Hizbullah fired its daily dose this afternoon; no one was hurt in the anti-aircraft fire attack over the northern border… Arabs opened fire at security guards on the Trans-Israel highway today; no one was hurt…

Yaffa Herenstein, 31, murdered by terrorists two nights ago outside her home in the Jordan Valley community of Mechora, was laid to rest this afternoon in the cemetery of Gedera, south of Rehovot. Her husband is in serious condition; their two toddler children were unhurt.
