yes, I am trying to figure out how to take this person from a simple belief in a "god" ... to a belief in the Alpha and Omega God, His Son and His Holy Spirit ... much like the Apostle Paul did when he was at Athens ...
some say the Gospel According to John is the best place to start an unbeliever or a new Christian ... I would tend to agree ...
for those who are interested, here is an online version of the Gospel According to John ...
The Gospel According to John
John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The Same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In Him was Life; and the Life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Have you read much of C.S. Lewis? If there was such a thing I'd be a Lewisian Christian. See if your friend would be willing to read "Mere Christianity".
"Pilgrims Regress" is also very good for the more philosophical as is Bunyan's inspiration for Lewis' takeoff ... "Pilgrim's Progress". The old english style is a bit stultifying but it's a wonderful book. Absolutely timeless.
