Neo-conservatives see nothing wrong with big, centralized government.

Hamiltonian Federalists. Whigs. Socialists.

I would rather "throw my vote away" on an independent or third-party candidate and sleep well at night because I didn't contribute to the continuing downfall of our lost republic by voting for a neo-conservative/socialist, than choose "the lesser of two evils" and know that I voted into office someone who was going to go for my wallet and stab me in the back as if he were a common street mugger.

Well see I say that and get attacked for apparently having principles. From the responses I've seen of late, it just strengthens my belief that the only way to return to what the Founders had in mind would be to abolish the 17th Amendment. The voters have seen they can vote themselves money, among other things, from the public treasury and the general government. At this rate I truly feel we are at Tyler's 'apathy to dependency' point with only bondage left to go
