[history]
Within hours of Coalinga police issuing an Amber Alert notifying the public that two sisters, ages 8 and 10, had been kidnapped, the girls were located in Mexico Saturday night. Martin Moncallo Ruiz, 32, is wanted for allegedly kidnapping Ashley Campos, 8, and Cindy Campos, 10, in Coalinga between 5:30 a.m. and noon.

I am not to sure that the "Amber Alert" acutally played a role in their being found.
Notice how the Fresno Bee makes the point that Gov. Davis mandated the Amber Alert system. There are many threads on FR that point out that Davis could have mandated it years ago and didn't.

Ruiz's automobile, a 1995 blue and gray Cadillac Eldorado with a black rag top, had been spotted crossing into Mexico. I guess Amber Alert did alert authorities as to their location.

I am not to sure that the "Amber Alert" acutally played a role in their being found. I was hoping the Amber Alert system was limited for use in "stranger abductions".
Domestic abductions have a bad habit of happenning over and over and over.
Soon it will abused as much as the 911 system presently is.

You are right the Amber Alert will be abused. Those holding ANY form of public office lack ANY judgement. Office holders are like 'Brute Beasts.'

What is that about this being the sixth time for the Amber Alert? Bill Handel of LA's KFI radio was quite clear that the amber alert for the two girls in Lancaster was its first use, and then went to testify at the capitol in Sacramento, complaining about the huge bugs in the system and about getting it improved and approved. Handel is very focused on the alert system. Those other five alerts must have been much quieter, or else very local outside of LA, because as I recall, they never were heard on KFI. Of course Davis also claimed that HIS plan worked after the Lancaster girls were rescued - there is no limit to what he will do or say to get re-elected (which he will unfortunately most likely be - God help California).
