"They said, 'give us your wallet,' " said Hendricks. "I'm laying there, I wake up, open my eyes and there's two thugs. I said, 'you're kidding.' They said, 'no we're not kidding.' " Hendricks got out of bed to get his wallet, but reached for something else, a .22 caliber pistol."

Roy Hendricks doesn't consider himself a hero. He says he was just protecting himself. He wasn't going to let two young thugs break into his own home and rob him.

The moment of fear when he realized the situation he was in must have been astounding and then to quickly regain a COOL head!!

During World War II, Hendricks parachuted into the fray at Normandy on D-Day with the 82nd Airborne Division.
