The corporate entity did not exist. The plans were being laid and work may have been in process for the original Free Republic Network (which was later abandoned), but the current Free Republic Network did not exist during this period. There was no state charter, no official company, no officers, no Board of Directors, no checking account, nothing. All of that came later.
