Independent?!? Independent?!? Unfortunately, I live here now, and independent is not a word I would apply to Michigan voters on the whole. A beautiful state, but, basically, a bunch of rubes surrounding (and supporting) the Third World of Detroit.
Sorry, Dan from Michigan, MomBonn, and the Grosse Pointers. Don't mean to offend--I did pull punches--but that's the way I see it.
As for independence, sure. 90% of Detroiters dependent on the state for subsistence. And the automobile union people so "independent" of the teamsters that they ignore the written statements of a man who wants to destroy their industry and vote overwhelmingly for him because the union tells them to.
If we work hard, we MIGHT be able to pull off an upset.
How long have you been in Michigan? I moved up here two years ago, so I'm more of a North Carolina redneck than a rube. This is the best time of year to be up here. Just wait until winter.
