I know that each of the (few) times I've ever been pulled over, one of the first things that comes to mind to say to the cop is "there are people being robbed, raped and murdered around here (and in my area that's very true), don't you have anything better to do?"The first thing that comes to my mind when I get pulled over is, "These poor cops have to deal with the dregs of society on a daily basis. Since I'm not a criminal, I better just cooperate with the cop and let him get on with more important business."

Don't take this the wrong way, but generally that's the quote one would hear from a "good citizen."
...and sometimes "good citizens" make for bad government.

I cooperate with the cops myself even if they sometimes have a strange attitude. I don't think cops always handle every problem correctly and I personally know of a man killed by a SWAT team who should not have been killed. He didn't handle the situation correctly but in that case the cops didn't either. I guess sometimes "rhetoric" has to be watched ---even our own because we don't know who might be reading and takes it too far.

I admire your attitude and react the same myself. Funny, every time I've been pulled over by an officer for speeding, it's been because I was speeding.
