I agree with you on Cuba. The sooner we re-establish trade, the sooner the people of Cuba will realize that it wasn't the embargo that has kept them poor, it is Castro's poor leadership. Until then, every ill that befalls Cuba will be blamed on the embargo.

I don't agree with you on Iraq. Iraq is a threat to the United States mainly because of an incomplete war under George H.W. Bush and lack of strong will during the Clinton administration. Since Bush failed to topple Saddam and Clinton allowed Iraq to rebuild a lot of its infrastructure, it is now poised to dish out hostility once again.

I'm one of the people who doubt the relationship between Islamic fundamentalists and Saddam who is known to kill Islamic fundamentalists, but that isn't the reason to go after Saddam and force a regime change. Saddam needs to be taken out in the first step to create stability in the region. Saddam is all too willing to stir up tempests of trouble.

So do you think once the Cuban people realize it wasn't the embargo but Castro all along, they'll vote the rascal out of office?

If the Cuban people really thought their problems were *our* fault, why would they risk their lives to come here?

Here's another possibility: they know he's the problem, but can't do anything about it because he has the second biggest army in the hemisphere and they don't even have a gun.
