Oh man you just brought back nightmares. I grew up there moved to Oxnard/Ventura area in 1996 and got out finally in 2000 altogather. Were you there in 94 when Northridge hit?

I am not sure how the job market is, as I live in Phoenix. Try the classified ads here. I know about Kern County because Mom lives in Bakersfield, and I was born and raised in the area. Currently, Kern County is probably one of the more affordable places to live in CA.
