I don't for a moment think you are malicious. And it is so much about individual preference, and what we value and enjoy doing, not to mention where it is that we have our loved ones and friends. That is why while I appreciate that this is all in fun, in the end it is a totally inane exercise. The micro trumps the macro big time.

You are so right, people do have their preferences in what is important to them in order to have a good quality of life. For some, it's living in a big, noisy city with lots of amenities. For oddballs such as myself, living in a very rural area with clean air, no crime, and lots of natural beauty is the way to go.
