Utah is prehaps the most conservative state of all.
The Provo-Orem area has consistently been named the best place to live in the US.

I was in Duluth-Superior in early May of this year. The temp was in the mid thirties and rainy. Left in the morning and drove home to western Wisconsin where it was about eighty. But beautiful scenery around your area.

Are you talking about Calico? I was talking about the original Knott's, in Anaheim. Now long since remodeled out of existence.

Culture? You want to talk culture when you have Hollyweird, swishy homosexuals out the on the streets in their little drag queen outfits, the liberal socialist education the children get, teaching them how to love a snail darter and kill a baby. When you insult Californians, it helps to be more specific. Any amateur can flame Hollywood and San Francisco. Try this instead:
"Corona del Mar? You mean that yacht-clubber mausoleum where a committee decides what color you can paint your front door? The place where your neighbor will drag you into court if Miguel accidentally gets lawn clippings on his driveway? Do they still have those tank traps and razor wire to keep hoi polloi off the beaches?

California seems to have only few nasty places, LA and SanFRan, with a considerable amount of conservatives, beaches and nice scenary. There's nothing like that in Mass, think of the whole state as LA with toll roads and bad weather.

LOL Wouldnt be a bad idea. You oughta see the kind of house you can buy in the rest of the country for what a starter home goes for in CA.... Well Eric, there are very good reasons why homes in California are more expensive than homes in say, Oklahoma... And people are buying them here just about as fast as they come on the market....
You must remember, there are only 6 regions on earth with the same climatic conditions as California. One is near the Mediterranean, one in Australia, etc. Some folks like great weather, year around, with a varied geography....Try to imagine 71 degree days with a light pacific breeze, in JANUARY.....
And remember, many folks out on the west coast make pretty good money...

Heck. No armpit? Oh pl..... ease.
I mentioned a state that elected a terrorist-pardoning creep lover with its eyes wide open. And by the way, that same state lambasted Guiliani when he objected to the painting of the Virgin Mary smeared with elephant dung proudly displayed in the streets [payed for with tax money]. I mentioned a state where the majority of people in a survey admitted they sometimes go three days without brushing their teeth. [Daschle's state] Believe me. We can find at least two armpits out there. And one always smells worse than the other. The only question is, which state deserves it the most? The state with the most partial birth abortions? The state that has the most anti-Christian art? The state with the highest crime rate? The state that re-elects the worst public 'servants'? So many ways to choose.

When I made the statement you italicized, I was responding to this statement made about my own home state:
You are a blithering idiot. Oh, I see, you live in Alabama. Of course, Alabama, one of our paragons of culture, education, natural beauty, etc., etc., etc. - NOT!!!
I want to stress that, if you go back and read my statements, I was not singling out Californians as a whole. I was not even talking about the state itself. I was speaking of socialists who are elected there and how they make life miserable for conservatives there. I mentioned Hollywood because of it being a multi-billion dollar industry that not only supports socialist liberals, overwhelmingly, but the celebs will stick their noses in other states' business. Also, I mentioned San Francisco because of its huge homosexual influence, which is encouraged by its politicians.
Anyone who feels that I have singled California out biased remarks, I say: Do you seriously think I would bother to deny the charges of bias, if I truly had a bias towards the people of California?

You California haters really are clueless... granted, the congested liberal pockets of this *beautiful* state produce the most vile politicians in America, but the rest of California is populated by good decent caring hard working Americans...
I grew up in Elizabeth New Jersey... and I've been *all* over the US... the Bayway section of Elizabeth NJ (exit 13 on the New Jersey Turnpike) *is* hands down *THE* most godawful place in America.
Period.

I currently live in California, and I third the nomination. As long as Grey Davis is our governor, and Fienstein and Boxer are our Senators, this place is the worst!

If I were to have perfect choice in where to live, I would strongly consider Gunville Texas. =]

Texas, particularly Houston. A sure way to go broke would be to open a bookstore in Houston.

I agree with all you have said. I'm one of the frustrated California conservatives also. We had a great vacation down in Santa Barbara 2 years ago. We really liked the zoo, and we think it is a much better zoo than the San Diego Zoo.

This is dumb debate. You have to define the criteria first to make it an objective view....
