Corporate PACs Give $66 Million!(66% to GOP)

New figures compiled by PoliticalMoneyLine show corporate PACs have given over $66 million to federal candidates through 6/30/02. Republicans received 66% ($41,999,614) and Democrats 34% ($24,155,568). See Release for full details.
Corporate PAC contributions to House candidates were split $29,345,109 (64%) to Republicans and $16,719,276 (36%) to Democrats.

Gee, I guess THOSE guys won't have any trouble getting THEIR laws passed.
Seems to me that the John Q. Publics like us should form our OWN PAC, as opposed to voting. Bribery seems to be the only real way to get business done in this country.

Oh yes, I'm sure groups like the RIAA and MPAA have the power of millions of agreeing opinions on them, and speak as a legitimate voice of democracy when they bribe people like "Cash and Carry" Fritz Hollings into trying to pass their latest pet anti-consumer bills as quietly as they can.
Some PACS are good and do good work, but it seems to me the system is being more and more abused...
