Perhaps what Workmen really needs is the "Potosi Push?" After all, he does so enjoy pharmaceuticals...

This guy is a poster child of why any changes to the drug laws need both carrots and a big honkin' stick. IMO, if someone gets a fourth DUI or driving under drugs conviction, they should face a minimum of fifteen years in prison, with mandatory weekly drug and alcohol tests upon release. This kind of crap is just unexcusable, no matter what your political beliefs are.

He has been convicted more than 70 times in Oregon, Idaho and Washington on felonies and misdemeanors from drug use and possession to burglary, driving while under the influence, and driving without insurance or a license, deputy prosecutor Jan Bennetts said. Eventually, one starts to wonder about the culpability of a judge who knowingly releases a 69th-time offender back to the streets.

A tip of the hat to Judge Bail. Someone should have thrown away the key long ago.

There was a side article to this main one. It said that Anthony Barton and his Mother-in-law, Diane, still have about 500,000 dollars in medical bills to go. I'm sure insurance will help on some, but it doesn't go into detail and kind of gives the impression that it may not help. To donate to this gentleman and his family, please call the Meridian, Idaho Fire Department at (208) 455-3032. The fund name is the Barton-King Family Fund. I know that our locals here will chip in like gangbusters, but every little penny helps
The scum that did this deserves life in prison. I'm glad our hometown judge did have the sense to lock him up for good. I'm betting the reason this doper was out was that his conviction total was probably 68 misdemeanors and 2 felonies. Still no excuse for this piece of trash.

Workman previously admitted to a 30-year drug addiction. And who knows how much other misery he caused during those many years.
