Yeah, but where am I going to find a bear around here...at this hour?

Or maybe I should have one with me at all times, just in case - better to have a bear and not need it than to need one and not have it, right?

If it has to be done, use a shotgun up close or a varmint rifle from afar. No ballistics.

Just think too, if a loved one got raped or otherwise violated, the defender of the loved one's honor could seek satisfaction, that is if they could find the offender! But like someone said up the page, people like Bill Clinton, to where he was known to have offended some, and suspected to have violated another, (like G. Condit, O.J. Simpson)wouldn't survive! They would be fighting agrieved relatives for an awfull long time, even if they did survive!

There was also "Dangerous Liasons" (sp?)with John Malkovitch about ten years ago or so. He died in the end of it in a duel, I believe. I believe that some shootouts in the old west were a type of duel; especially if they were fought in the town square with just two gunfighters. But some shootouts involved more shooters, so that wouldn't be a duel in that case.

Also, if you've ever seen "Gone With the Wind", it was implied that the "Rhett Butler" character was an expert duelist. In a scene near the beginning, at the barbecue where character "Charles Hamilton" was arguing with him, and character "Ashley Wilkes" pulled him aside, and warned him of this. That he was calling "Rhett" out, and "Charles" would be advised not to, because he was needed for other, better things later (war).
