In an ironic sort of way, the humor surrounding Traficant's squirrel wig might actually be the instrument to free him from prison. You will find out more info on this in a few days.
Oh, and please participate in this online POLL on the following question:
Should the U.S. Justice Dept. investigate possible prosecutorial misconduct in the Traficant case?
Right now the results show over 72% YES votes. Cast your ballots HERE.

Traficant ain't running for nothing, and especially from Ohio.
You must reside in the state from which you run. He wanted to go to Elkton, OH. He is in Pennsylvania now, where he's staying, unless he starts shooting off his mouth again, in which case he'll get diesel therapy.
Sorry Jim, prison life is like the military. You don't always get to pick your duty station and MOS.

"There is no precedent regarding a House run from prison."
Perhaps not..but Congressman Charles Diggs (D) from Detroit WAS re elected following his conviction for kickbacks. I had thought he was in prison at the time of his re election...

John Green, director of the Bliss Institute for Applied Politics at the University of Akron, said Traficant has never been more popular than after his expulsion and sentencing. Youngstown State University Political Science Department Chairman William Binning said Traficant winning 10 to 15 percent of the vote is realistic. Interesting. Then again Jim is always fun to watch.

The only polling since the May primary (before the expulsion) put Traficant's support at 13 percent. Wasn't there a poll posted here last week (conducted the end of July) that put Traficant well ahead in first place in the new district?

Of course, everybody LIKED 'Gene Debs. Too bad he was a Socialist, but at least he was sincere. IIRC, he got about 900k votes for President while in prison.

If he were in Florida he could vote for himself.
