Your right. The US is so far down the road of socialism now that there is no going back, ever.

I believe that most of we Freeper types are probably as conservative as Hannity. Because his income depends upon his being CONSISTENTLY conservative even regarding issues that he is not totally sold on. We do not have that burden.
If most of us see something we think is wrong with a fellow conservative or a conservative cause, we will openly discuss and debate that issue HONESTLY. Our jobs do not require us to to try to look sincere about something conservative in which we are not convinced. I believe Hannity doesn't have that luxury.
I supported the president's election but I am not happy with some of the things that he has done and have felt free to, as Hannity might proclaim, badmouth my president. For instance, his reaction to the deaths of five of our fellow US citizens has been totally unsatisfactory to me and I have stated that opinion here in strong terms without repurcussions. Can Hannity really compare our interaction on this great site with the somewhat limited freedom to express his complete opinions on his national TV show? I really doubt it. If my logic has merit, then Hannity has badmouthed us unfairly.

He said FR's tend to cannibalize conservatives.
I'd say that his statement is incorrect. Everyone except the disruptors and a very few (a dozen or less) liberals on FR are conservatives. What he may be talking about is Conservatives bashing Republicans and RINOS that pull stupid stunts and implement bad policy. I have no problem bashing Bush over his (illegal)immigration views or his spending money like a drunken sailor. I also rabidly detest the so-called Republican Senator from Arizona.

Not ever?

Your right. The US is so far down the road of socialism now that there is no going back, ever. I used to think that way, however, there is an unseen bright spot on the horizon: the cult following of socialism is just that, a cult following, and it is quite easy to denounce and break appart a cult that in the end only asks to confine its followers and to reduce general jurisdiction of the nation and its individuals. The key is not to seek power as conservatives, as power is inherently anti-conservative, but to preserve the spot of power for the righteous that we can protect. Robin Hood never sought power, but to give power back to its rightful owner, and we can do it, the rightful owners being self-governance of individuals in federation with other powers and responsibilities.
