Did anyone catch last night's episode of The Rerun Show?

NBC has a new show, titled The Rerun Show, that is a parody of old television programs of the past. I thought that this sounded like it might be funny, if handled correctly. I came across it last night and saw a fairly funny skit of Different Strokes. Then, the show featured a parody of The Partridge Family in which Partridge brother Keith has an INCESTUOUS relationship with sister Laurie. Mind you, this was not presented as actor David Cassidy having an affair with actress Susan Dey. This was presented as Keith hooking up with Laurie to make his girlfriend jealous. Also, the two children of the show, witnessing brother and sister making out, decide to start making out on their own. Of course, these were adult actors in the roles but, this was shown in primetime. I turned the channel immediately.

Am I the only one who finds this sort of thing creepy?

ABC/Disney... it's doomed.

Yes. Report to indoctrination camp THX-1138...
Seriously, that's pretty low what they did. Jerry Springer becomes sitcom, news at 11, right? How frikken gross!

No, you are NOT the only one. We thought that this show had potential as well, and purposely watched it.
We won't again.

Many people in the "Humor" business feel that they must get edgier and edgier to be "creative" or "relevant" or, mostly, to call attention to themselves. I tried some stand-up recently, and the other, more experienced ones there talked about not wanting to be middle-of-the-road. BUT, they drew the line at some new trends in incest or child molestation humor that is now on the scene! Haven't been back, needless to say.
I thought the Partridge skit was a little over the top, to say the least. But no more than the site of a grisled, unshaven, mini-Danny!

Yet further justification for my boycott of anything on the tube (with the exception of the Green Bay Packers, of course).

A better plot would have been the Partridge Family going to MTV to pitch their own Osbourne-esque show. When the film the first show, the Patridges use words like "fudge" instead of the Osbourne "f" word. The powers-that-be sit down with the family and tell them that they are just too wholesome for MTV. A little parody mixed with social commentary.

Just what is Bonaduce's claim to fame, the fact that he got off of drugs and booze? I commend him for that, but is that a basis for celebrity? Please tell me if I have missed something.

It was just an awful show, not even funny.....
I can't wait to see the Anna Nichole show though....

Linda Stasi, the NY Post's (fairly liberal) television reviewer warned readers yesterday.
She said it was the most disgusting, unfunny, and appalling thing she'd ever seen.
She gave it "four garbage cans".
I was going to post her review, but I couldn't find it online.

oops, Valerie - it was NBC this time, not ABC. ABC will have to catch up now.

I posted a thread around here, before the Osbornes appeared, that it would be a "can't miss" smash hit.
From what I've seen of the "Anna Nicole" show, it's even can'tier miss.
It might be the most cantest miss show I've ever seen previews for.

Do they keep Anna sedated 24/7? All those commercials of her show featuring her slurring her words and speaking as if she just woke up. And, for Pete's sake, her gut is even with the front of her breasts!

I remember the "Gumby Christmas Special" on SNL had Donny and Marie Osmond ending a duet with frantic smooching. It was pretty damn funny, imho.

When AlBore loses his bid for the White House, I look for CNN to create an Osbourne-type show for him, Tipper, and their saplings.
To: Pathfinder
It was absolute filth.

Yea, that's disgusting, but what's new?
I stopped watching Saturday Night Live 25 years ago when Dan Akroyd and O. J. Simpson french kissed.
If you have kids, put a lock on the TV and the computer.

I only saw two of the skits, the Different Strokes skit and part of the Partridge Family skit, but the whole show seems to revolve around sex. The only funny parts in the show were those that did not have a sexual angle to them.

I kept missing the Ozzy show last season......
My loss, I finally caught some re-runs....
One of the funniest shows ever.
Anna Nichole...I agree, this will be the hottest show of 2002....
I predict Anna will be visiting the whitehouse by Thanksgiving
