From another source: The bill, which passed 64-34 on largely partisan lines as the Senate was preparing to leave for a month-long summer recess, now goes to Bush for signature.
At least More than 25% of the Dem Senators voted for this, yet it was on "largely partisan" lines. What a bunch of jerks... (the Media)
Now if we can see some victories on this whole "War on Terror" thing, I'd feel even better.
Another loss for American sovereignty and Independence.
Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., a fierce defender of congressional prerogatives, waved his copy of the Constitution and warned that fast track "wrests from the Congress its right to strengthen and protect Americas trade laws."
I would vote Yea on anything that this idiot waves "his copy of the Constitution" at. I'm pretty sure it is not a standard-issue Constitution that I love.
No, more like War Monger.
I want to see some big victories over our Islamic enemies. Sooner rather than later would be best. Now that President Bush has postponed the attack on Iraq to avoid it being labled an "October Surprise", I am starting to become concerned that our efforts to fight these nations of terror, and the Bush Doctrine of September 20, 2001, may be affected by Democratic politricks. I don't want the "War on Terror" ending up like the "War on Drugs", an ineffectual waste of rhetoric and money. I want results. I tend to think that the enlisted men and women fighting for my safety agree with me.
I think they agree with their Commander in Chief.
Every president from Gerald Ford on has had fast track authority, but President Clinton failed to revive it after it expired in 1994, largely because of opposition in his own party.
It wasn't the Evil Reupublicans that stopped the disgraced, impeached, "credibly-alleged" serial rapist, EX-President "42" Bubba J. Klintoon and his Evil co-President "666" Hildabeast Rodham Klintoon...
Not true. This perversion of the separation of powers began in 1973 with Richard M. Nixon.
Boy that's a mouthful! LOL
Article I, Section 8. The Congress shall have power to...
To regulate commerce with foreign nations,...
"We are infinitely better off without treaties of commerce with any nation."
--Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 1815.
You just don't like free trade, but coming up with a phony constitutional argument is beneath you.
