But here is the paradox.....The congress has heard the facts of this case and expelled him. Despite the fact that expelling him after 20+ years is more an indictment of congress than of Traficant, the fact that they have done so creates a bit of a problem eh? Normally, that sort of hearing would be put off until appeals were heard. That is the way our system works.

And on a related issue of his being barred from computers and e-mail, just how fair is that in mounting an appeal? If a convict can buy their own computer, I think it is beneficial to the justice system as a whole to allow inmates e-mail and internet priveleges. It would sure make what they are doing easier than how it works now! They record phone calls, open outgoing mail, open incoming mail, and that has to be a lot of work. Besides, time spent on the computer is time being trained for a job when you get out.

trafficant MUST be contained... his "dishing" of info related to the corrupt clitong administration is DANGEROUS to the current administration somehow...

He is toast.

Too bad, I think he was always trying to be one of the good guys...

take a bribe via stock sale from global crossing, and you get to be majority leader in the senate... take a bribe from failing US steel... and you get hard time. Go figure.

High tech fraud... in. Manufacturing and REAL JOBS industry tampering to save your neighbors income from legit work... and you go to jail.

Talk about flexible morality in a REPUBLICAN congress?
