FREDERICK, Md.(AP)--A broadcast report says the FBI is conducting another search at the Frederick, Md., apartment of former Fort Detrick scientist, Steven Hatfill.
A local TV station says agents are searching the apartment in the Detrick Plaza apartment complex and a trash container outside.
Hatfill worked for two years at Fort Detrick in the virology division of the Army's Infectious Disease Institute - the center of the nation's biological warfare defense research program.

Not giving up. They even tipped the TV stations again, I see.

Gotta keep reheating that domestic anthrax thing. It just cools down too quickly.

Given this scientist's background, as a proponent of biowar defense, and apparently his ties to different US intelligence agencies, I have wondered if these searches are staged, merely a way to get the real anthrax mailer to think the heat is off. You would think that any trace of suspicious biological material would result in an arrest, given the Fed's hamhandedness. I guess we'll see.

Looking under the bed for Richard Jewel, I suppose.

I thought Hatfill got an academic position in Louisiana.

WASHINGTON (AP)--FBI agents wearing protective gloves searched trash bins Thursday at the apartment complex of former Army researcher Steven J. Hatfill, considered a "person of interest" in the anthrax investigation.
The search at Detrick Plaza Apartments is connected to the government's anthrax investigation, according to two U.S. government officials, speaking on condition of anonymity.
At the apartment building, the lids of the two trash bins were open, and a dark blue van was parked nearby with its back doors open. White cardboard boxes sat next to the bins.
Cable News Network reported that Hatfill is now being referred to as a "potential suspect."

Just searched the LSU directory,,there is a Steven Hatfill who is associate dean of the continuing ed dept,,is this the guy?

They even tipped the TV stations again, I see. Yup. A dead giveaway.
This is obvious public relations BS. If they were serious, we would never know it was happening.
I hope/suspect Hatfill is a willing participant in the game.
The comic relief is Barbara Hatch Rosenberg, AKA Clueless, who is filling the role of "Useful Idiot" perfectly. Her chapter in the books that are sure to follow (eventually) should be quite light reading.
To: cajungirl
yep, he is,,I just got his address and it is in Maryland. Now what kind of continuing ed is he doing.
